Costco Wavestorm Surfboard-In for Review
Posted on November 27, 2009 by Srinivas Rao

Earlier this year Costco decided to enter the market of making surfboards. If you don’t know a thing about surfing, then this is probably the perfect board for you. If you are an experienced surfer, it’s a fun board to have in the quiver to teach friends how to surf. If you have been surfing at all this season, then by now you know all about the Costco Wavestorm Soft Top longboard (aka “ the blue board”), which it has come to be known as in the last 6 months. This board is targeted at the true beginning surfer. The low 99 dollar price point makes it a perfect board for the early stage surfer who wants to learn how to surf. Even if you decide to give up on the sport, you’re only out 100 bucks. I spent almost 8 months riding the Costco Wavestorm because I couldn’t afford to buy another board. Although I love the board, now that I have a real one, I think of it as a first girlfriend. You don’t really know what you’re missing until you’ve had something better.

I learnd how to surf on this longboard, and have no complaints. Although its not as good as a real longboard, it is perfect to learn on. Now that I own a real longboard, I am teaching my couson how to surf on wavestorm. Perfect for a begginer.
Hey Laurence,
I think this board is absolutely a great beginner board. I think that there are better ones even for beginners, but for the price tag and ease of catching waves this board really is worthwhile. I plan on buying at least one more when Costco brings them back in the summer.
